Conflict and Resolution
I’m walking on eggshells wherever I go
Tip-toe
So as not to disturb
But I am disturbed
I’m in your way
Silence is clawing it’s way at my nerves
Knawing my conscious
Slicing then sticky
Though carpet may burn
Soil overturned
Toes stubbed on cold tiles turn the screams inside
Forcing back tears I can no longer hide
Tick tock
The spark dies
The fire to fight a heap of ashes
Having forgotten that they were once light
Showing up may not be worth my time
Under the circumstance
To petty retorts I resort
Then lips became venomous
Hatred spewing at the tip of my tongue
A lashing of words
Cutting of ties
A shrill screech I deliver as hard as a beating
Because baseless are the cause of your concern
Eggshells turned warning signs
“You’re not welcome here”
I’m told
I thought
Truth sounds at sunset
After a huff and puff
Another day has past
I watch you unfold
Cold shoulders and looks passed
Scars from before
Trigger laughter and memory
Sign posts forgotten
Swept up with eggshells
Love finds me in rubble
Reminds me that without conversation
Blasè and passive aggression is all we’ll see
But if love lives here then so do we
