Lost and Finding
cigarettes stale.
I coughed out the feeling of you as I exhaled,
and found myself lost in a cloud of cigarette smoke
that spelt out your name.
messages in bottles.
I drank it to the bottom,
and found myself lost in a sea of dizzy, I found a letter
that read something like
“I can’t help you forget him.”

In other men, I looked for a resemblance of you,
and found myself lost in his eyes,
realising that he wasn’t you.
searching.
I searched for pieces of you
in hopes that I would feel whole and new.
finding.
new found fixations
illusive distractions .
eluding the feeling of you.
eluding my dependence on you.
lost.
I seem to have lost myself in my pursuit
of something to help me forget you.
do you know who I am? I seem to have forgotten.
