What Do You See?

I dream of unknown meadows where the flowers cluster together in endless edenly bouquets.
I walk through them for hours each night.
Waking each morning to cramps in my calfs and feet at the end of my might.
I pause to sample as many scents from as many sweet heads as my nose allows.
Waltzing through the meadow making it my business to browse.
I have had this dream many times before,
I walk for hours always wanting more.

A few nights ago I stood in my meadow staring at the petaled horizon.
I saw a shadow among the pollen heads with a beautiful sun hat on.
Unclear to my eyes but to my mind a clear figure.
It was you I saw, with your hand stretching desperately towards me slowly beginning to whither.
I started towards you with my arm stretched out the same.
I heard your voice in the distance, you called my name.

I have had this dream many times before
Never the same flowers, always the same silhouette of you.

I wonder, when you wander through your meadows who and what you see.
I wonder if the silhouette in your dreams looks a little like me.
