Encounter

We met God the other day
When our hearts were ripped
out and left on the floor, when we were left at the door without a goodbye not once did he look back a fathers love can only go so deep

I met God the other day

When my body betrayed me
I was pinned beneath him and with every thrust my body didn’t know any better it thought it was in heaven while my mind was stuck in hell

He met God the other day

When he saw his life flash before his eyes as a sons instinct to protect his mother from the scornful touch of a hellbent father left him with a death wish

She met God the other day

When she decided that conforming to the tragedies of humanity weren’t worth it so instead she found comfort in Mother Nature and a rope

They met God the other day

When they got stuck in the endless cycle of darkness, as the needle sank deeper into flesh but the image of God faded and all that was achieved was a level of calmness

He met God the other day

When his mother did the sign of the cross in a land of other gods a sign that was seen a respect, thanks and joy but instead it turned into a sign of hatred and death was seen not long after.
