14. Hope

Tell me your story a thousand times

Tell it to me exactly the same way

With the same passion bouncing off the tip of your teeth

Repeat all your gestures

And I will gaze at them as though it were the first time I see hands

Shed the exact same tear

Let it reflect the light of the setting sun on your earth skin

Laugh in that high pitched laugh until my ears go numb

Then laugh some more

Do it all a million times over

As I watch with aging eyes and listen with muffled ears

Filled with newborn wonder

Every time you begin

Until my end

And when all is said

And all is done

Tell our rose story to my blossoming corpse

As my ghost whispers to yours

Filling the silence in the wind

Until life begins anew

And I again

Find you

Hey, thanks so much for reading! Here’s a free PDF copy of “How Lovely – A Story in 13 poems” I wrote a while back.

Consider this poem the 14th, shared on the 14th. Divine planning is a real thing :’).
